What is assisted living?
Assisted living is often viewed as the best of both worlds. Residents have as much independence as they want with the knowledge that personal care and support services are available if they need them. Assisted living communities are designed to provide residents with assistance with basic activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and more.
Independent living with a helping hand describes our Assisted Living Program here at Vintage Senior Living. Your health, comfort and dignity are the cornerstones of our care. We’ll work with your personal physician to develop a plan that’s right for you. Visit the assisted living webpage below to learn more about the services that we can provide.
What is hospice care and what kind of options do Vintage communities have for hospice?
Hospice is a model of care that focuses on relieving symptoms and supporting patients with a life expectancy of six months or less. Hospice involves an interdisciplinary approach to provide medical care, pain management and emotional and spiritual support. The emphasis is on comfort, not curing.
Vintage Senior Living works with preferred providers who have agreed to abide by established best practices. Hospice providers, in conjunction with our staff, tailor a resident and family-centered hospice care program. Together, we make it possible for our residents with end-of-life needs to receive high quality, hospice care while remaining at Vintage Senior Living. Hospice is an integral part of our commitment to aging in place.
Vintage Senior Living embraces the hospice philosophy of ensuring the right to dignity and comfort during the final phase of our residents’ lives. We provide care management combined with emotional support. Our staff makes it a priority to be responsive to families’ needs and residents’ wishes.
Today it is very possible for seniors to live the kind of lives they want to live and it is never too soon to start planning for those years. View the list of resources that our staff recommends to help guide your through this process.
What is Memory Care?
Memory Care is the term for a long-term care option for patients who have been diagnosed with such conditions or have problems with at least two areas of daily living activities. A memory care environment is designed for persons with a level of impairment making it unsafe for him or her to continue to stay at home, but who does not require the intensive care of a skilled nursing facility. Memory care allows a person experiencing memory loss to maintain a level of independence while relying on the safety and security of being in a residential community with a professional staff.
At Vintage Senior Living we believe that no two people experiencing cognitive decline are alike. A keystone of our care-giving approach is to tailor support to the resident’s stage of life, ensuring their continued dignity, comfort and peace of mind. Our simple goal: that everyday is a very good day. Click on the memory care link below to read more about the services our memory care program provides.

Do the Vintage communities allow friends and families to visit?
Not only does every community allow family and friends, but we encourage it. In addition to promoting frequent family visits, activities and shared meals, we may also sponsor events like candlelight family dinners, luaus, happy hours and holiday get-togethers, including entertainment. We also try to plan regular programs featuring doctors or other speakers on topics of importance and interest to both families and their loved ones: Medicare counseling, pain management, hospice care, estate planning, exercise and mobility, home health options, Veterans Affairs, just to cite a few possible examples. Friends and family are always welcome to attend and learn some helpful facts. The decision to live apart from one’s family is a difficult one to make. Moving to a Vintage Senior Living community is the next best thing to bringing the family along.

What is Life Care Funding Group?
Life care funding helps seniors raise funds to pay for their senior housing and long-term care through the Life Settlement Market. A Life Settlement is the sale of an in-force life insurance policy, while the policy owner is still alive, for an amount much greater than the cash surrender value, in a straightforward process that takes 30 to 90 days. If a policy owner has outlived the purpose of a life insurance policy, has decided that is has become an under-perofrming asset, or has had a life event that requires liquidity – then selling a life insurance policy through a Life Settlement transaction should be considered.
Eligibility:
- Age 65 or older (ages as young as 55 can be considered)
- Any type of life insurance policy with a combined death benefit value of $50,000 or greater.
- A Life Settlement is the sale of an asset, not a loan, and has no restrictions on use of money or requirements to be secured or paid back.
- The policy owner is no longer responsible for paying premiums once a Life Settlement is complete.
To learn more about Life Settlements as a source of funds for seniors visit Life Care Funding Group at www.lifecarefunding.com or call 1-888-670-7773.
What is the Veterans Aid & Attendance Benefit?
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs offers an Aid and Attendance benefit for qualifying seniors and their spouses to help with the cost of senior living. Eligible veterans, surviving spouses of veterans, or couples can receive roughly between $1,000 to $1,900 per month depending on needs and financial standing. For more information visit www.veteranaid.org.
What if I have Long-Term Care Insurance?
Many seniors purchased long-term care insurance, but they may not have shared this information with others in the family.
